About Us
Here at TSW I believe in 100% transparency.
I DROPSHIP SOME OF MY PRODUCTS - Yes I am a dropshipper for TXQ and Nexus / LGT. I want to make this as clear as glass! I am not trying to hide this fact, I am not trying to make you think I build all of the products you see here. I am not trying to take advantage of anyone.
I DO NOT BUILD HILTS! - My "Custom" sabers are sabers or parts from Nexus / LGT that I modify and piece together. Sometimes I weather / distress them, sometimes I don't.
I DO NOT BUILD ELECTRONICS! - All electronics included come directly from TXQ or Nexus / LGT. I do not build the electronics in house.
Custom Work and Modifications - All custom work is non-refundable. Because I can not return modified products to the manufacturer, I can not accept refunds on these items. If an item is delivered broken or not functioning as intended, I will personally do everything in my power to make it right. I will work with you and the shipping company to rectify the problem as quickly as possible. I test all of my custom work before sending it out. If the items break during shipping I will do everything I can to fix the problem.
Why I Opened TSW - I opened this website for two reasons. Reason one was to create an easy to access resource for those new to lightsabers. A place where those new to the community can come and learn about lightsabers, lightsaber manufacturing, and all of the options available to them as a consumer, or hobbyist.
When I wanted to purchase my first lightsaber I was overwhelmed with options, stores, promotions, & sales. I didn't know where to look or buy from. So I set out to research the product, and find the best options that suited what I needed as a hobbyist. I scoured the internet for months to learn as much about lightsabers as I could, and now I am attempting to become a one stop shop for all of your lightsaber needs.
Reason two I created TSW was to share my ideas and creativity with others. I have always been creative and I have always customized my toys. From weathering hilts, to modifying electronics on RGB & Xenopixel cores and coming up with my own products (my RGB and Pixel crystal chambers). TSW was created to share those creations with the lightsaber community.
Who am I? Hello I am Jason! I am known as J - TheSaberWorkshop on the Lightsaber Discord, and Constantinelv on the lightsaber reddit. I was born in 1976, and when I saw Star Wars for the first time it became an obsession. Growing up as a kid we didn't have a lot of money, nor did quality lightsaber toys exist. I remember my parents buying me the first lightsaber Kenner / Lucas Film ever released. It was a flashlight with a plastic blow up blade. This one toy sparked an obsession with the lightsaber! I have researched lightsabers, and everything to do with them for (at the time of this writing) 40+ years and I want to share my love of this elegant weapon for a more civilized age, with you....... Won't you join me?
Why do you Drop Ship vs Keeping sabers in stock?
To keep prices down. This is the reason. Stocking sabers is expensive and takes up space in my house. If I didn't want to keep them in my house I would need to purchase warehouse space, and that space would increase the price of the products I sell. I have a family, house, and a life outside of this store, and that life costs me money. I am, trying to break into the market, if things go well I will stop drop shipping. But currently I don't have tens of thousands of dollars to invest in a bunch of inventory that may sit here and go unsold for long periods of time.
